Our group lessons are offered year round for any age or ability level. All of our lessons are 1/2 hour long taught by our well trained and energetic staff.
Parent and Me classes (ages 3 months -3 years old) are the basis to our program. Self esteem and social skills are developed here while learning the foundation of a truly relaxed and comfortable underwater swim. Following a fun and dynamic routine, movement and interaction with other students is emphasized. This class however is not just an introductory class. The goal here is to develop an independent swim for approximately five feet and a comfortable back float. Water safety is a very important issue and is even taught at this level.
Water Babies (ages 2 -3 ½ years old) graduates of the Parent and Me program with the abilities to swim, float, and have a sense of independence prepares them for this small group of three children. Stroke work is developed here as well as how to work together. This group allows for interaction with other children without the parent and a large sense of independence.
Dolphins classes (ages 3-5 years old) consist of four children in a group. Progress is made through a series of five levels, each level introducing new skills. The four competitive strokes are taught, with an emphasis on freestyle. Fun and working together are a big part of every lesson as well as grasping the idea of independent swimming and water safety. The Dolphins age group offers classes from beginner and advanced swimmers.
Sharks (ages 6-12 years old) are relatively similar. Consist of five levels and have a maximum of four children to a class. Going from beginner to advanced swimming, we emphasize on all four competitive strokes. Progress is made towards an efficient freestyle as well as competent backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. With four children in a group, patterns and routines are used to keep an efficient and enjoyable class maintained.
